Jay-Z says he did his part when it came to supporting Beanie Sigel. Over the weekend, footage hit the Net of Jay at a press conference that reportedly took place on October 30 in Toronto.

A journalist asked Jay for his reaction to Beanie going public with some grievances against Jay in his new song, "What You Talkin' About (Average Cat)." Beanie apparently feels his material wasn't promoted as heavily by the Roc boss as it could have been.

"He has a lot to complain about, not me," Jay started out in a jovial manner. Then he got a little more serious.

"Well, Beanie Sigel, at the time — and you can look it up if you like, just to be honest — was driving two Bentleys. I don't know how; it's impossible to drive two cars at one time. With his momma in the sticks and selling 800,000 records, I don't know what more you can do for somebody. What people choose to do when they attain of success ... at some point you have to look in the mirror, and look at yourself. Beanie Sigel had a record deal, a record label, and a clothing line — and never went platinum, ever. I don't know in the history of rap has anyone done so much with so little. I don't even know what more can you do for a person at that point. A record deal, that's normal. A record label and a clothing line? If that's not pushing a person, sh-- ..."

On Friday morning, Beans called into Philadelphia radio station 100.3 FM and spoke to DJ Charlamagne Tha God shortly after dropping "Average Cat."

"I'm not really dissing Jay," Sigel explained about the song. "It's certain parts in there where my emotions ... it's an emotional record for me. When I listened to [Jay's latest album] Blueprint 3, I heard a lot of shots directed towards people. I feel he gave out a lot of pairs of shoes on that album. I felt my feet was meant for a couple of them."

Beanie highlighted Jay's line "I heated up the Roc already/ Why can't y'all get hot already?" from "Already Home," as being directed at him.

Toward the end of "What You Talkin' About," Sigel says, " 'F--- you too and f--- Bleek three."

Memphis Bleek chimed in on the matter via Twitter on Friday.

"Just waking up my phone going crazy over this Sigel sh--. I just seen son at Powerhouse, wasn't nothing, now it's something ... I'm lost on that ... Guess that's how the rap game work.

" 'F--- Bleek 3,' haaa that's a good one," he continued. "And for the rec. I can't dis, that's my n---a, we gotta get up an chop it up. That's all ... He know me. That's all I could say."

50 Cent has commented on the situation as well.
